On Monday 20th November Dr Pete Worden visited the Initiative for Interstellar Studies Headquarters. Dr Worden is a former Brig.Gen USAF Retired and also former Director of NASA's Ames Research Centre. He is currently the Executive Director of the Breakthrough Initiatives. Dr Worden met with members of the i4is team to discuss Project Starshot, an effort to send a gram-scale probe to the nearest stars at 20% of the speed of light. Members of the team also gave presentations to Dr Worden on the outstanding work of the i4is Education and Technical Committees. A set of broad collaboration opportunities were discussed for the future. In addition, Dr Worden became the 2nd person (following the talk from former Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden in October) to give a public lecture at the new HQ.
